Poisoning Profile in Loghman -e-Hakim Hospital

Abstract:

SUMMARY This research was aimed at finding common causes of poisoning and associated factor. The important points which we considered wereas follow:the total number of patients. age and sex, number of cases which were seen in O.P.D or hospitalized, common drugs which were used accidental and professional subjects. Women with 62.5 % , were the majority of poisoned patients and 90% of our subject were 13 – 40 years old. Most were poisoned in the afternoon, 82.42% - often with 94.4% in our study.24% of the patients were hospitalized and the rest were seen in O.P.D. Benzadiazepins were the most frequently used drug in our research, with 29. 66 % , the mortality rate was 1 % . The most common cause of mortality in our patients was organophospbate with 19 .17 % followed by the opiods with 15.83%.
